Events regarding the “year Papanikolaou ” were not only held in Athens and Kymi.
Many Provincial Cities, Associations, Scientific Associations and Institutions honoured the great Greek researcher throughout 1983 organizing with various events.

at Volos Hospital, on 9/10/1983, (Organized by Zonta Group).
• Special event to pay tribute to DR George Papanikolaou, organized by New Smyrna Hearth, with the speakers Mr. N. Louros and Av. Koutifari on 20/10/1983
• Unveiling the bust of George Papanikolaou at Larissa Hospital on 13/11/1983. (Organized by the Rotarian Group).
• Honorable Event for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dr G. Papanikolaou at Hilton Hotel (3/12/1983), organized by the European Health Club.
